About this directory
MindfulnessTherapyOnline.com is an independent directory of therapist profiles. It is here to help you search, read and compare at your own pace before you contact anyone.
Where the profiles come from
Every therapist listed here offers online therapy through BetterHelp, and every profile is based on information supplied by BetterHelp. Each listed therapist names Mindfulness Therapy among their therapeutic approaches.
The therapists listed hold a recorded license in one or more of these states: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, Wyoming. That does not mean they are located in those states, or licensed in all of them. Each profile shows the licenses on record, so you can see where a therapist can work.
The summaries on each profile are written from that profile information. We do not interview therapists, and we do not rate, rank or recommend anyone. Being listed here is not an endorsement.
What listing mindfulness means
Mindfulness is a way of paying attention to the present moment, including thoughts, feelings and body sensations, without judging them. Some therapists bring short mindfulness exercises into sessions, often alongside other approaches.
A therapist who lists mindfulness has not necessarily completed a formal program such as Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) or Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), and this site does not claim any such training or certification. If it matters to you, ask the therapist how they use mindfulness and what training they have.
Mindfulness is not a cure, and it is not the right fit for everyone. A therapist can help you decide what might suit you.
How to choose someone to contact
- Read the about section first. How a therapist describes their work can tell you a lot about whether it would suit you.
- Look at the other approaches. Most therapists combine mindfulness with other ways of working. None is right for everyone.
- Check the license. Make sure the therapist can work with people in the state where you live. You can check a license with the state licensing board.
- Think about practical things. Language, experience and how sessions work all matter. It is fine to ask questions before you commit to anything.
